The 670 is a collaborative effort between Mel Pardue and Warren Osborne.  It is Benchmade's first "assisted opening" knife.  Unlike other assisted openers, Benchmade allows the owner the option to remove the components making it an assisted opener, creating a standard liner lock knife.
